DAY 1,  - Arrive in Cairo

Welcome to Cairo, a city full of amazing sights, smells and sounds. You'll be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. Then there'll be time to wander the streets and get your first taste of the city or relax by the pool. This evening enjoy a view of the city as you join your fellow Gutsy Women travelers and Travel Director for a welcome drink.

DAY 2, Cairo Sightseeing S

Experience this fabulous city up close and personal as you travel to Giza to see two sights that are the symbols of Egypt - the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx. Take the time to enter inside a pyramid before travelling to the Egyptian museum where you'll see the artifacts recovered from the tomb of the boy Pharaoh Tutankhamun which was discovered in 1922 - the highlight of the visit is the burial mask which weighs 21 pounds and is made of gold and precious stones. Tonight get to know each other as you enjoy dinner in a traditional

DAY 3, Cairo - Luxor - Nile Cruise

This morning take an internal flight to Luxor and then visit the Temple of Karnak to learn about the Sun-God Amon. By midday you'll be on board your home for the next four nights - a luxurious cruise ship upon which you'll sail along the Nile as people have for thousands of years

DAY 4, Nile Cruise - Dendera - Luxor 

Enjoy a boat trip to Dendera where you'll visit the fabulous Temple which is more than 2000 years old. See the stunning relief of the original ‘Queen of the Nile', Cleopatra and the son that she bore to Julius Caesar. In the afternoon visit the Temple of Luxor, a huge temple complex which was founded in 1400BC

DAY 5, Nile Cruise - Valley of the Kings - Kom Ombo 

Today visit the world-famous Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of many of the ancient Pharaohs. You'll visit some of the tombs before returning to the ship and cruising to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. This evening join your fellow travelers for an Egyptian highlight dinner on board

DAY 6, Nile Cruise - Aswan

Take in the stunning scenery as you cruise to Aswan where you'll visit the High Dam and the Temple of Isis which is located on an island in the middle of the river. In the afternoon travel back in time as you sail along the river in a felucca, before returning to the ship and enjoying dinner and a Nubian folklore show

DAY 7, Disembark Cruise in Aswan 

This morning disembark from the cruise and take the opportunity for an optional excursion by plane to visit the fantastic temples of Abu Simbel, which were moved brick by brick from their original sight in 1968 when the Aswan High Dam was constructed. Enjoy the facilities of a fabulous hotel tonight as you stay in the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract hotel, where many notables including Princess Diana and Winston Churchill have stayed, and the place where Agatha Christie wrote her famous novel ‘Death on the Nile'. There is nothing more amazing that enjoying high tea while watching the feluccas sail past!

DAY 8, Aswan to Cairo 

Fly back to Cairo this morning and on arrival enjoy more sightseeing including a visit to the Alabaster mosque in the Citadel and the Khan El Khalili bazaar where you can bargain for last minute souvenirs. This evening enjoy a Farewell Dinner, look back on the wonderful experiences of the last week and plan your next Gutsy Women trip with your new friends

DAY 9, Depart Cairo

This morning after breakfast it's time to bid farewell to Egypt as you return home with wonderful and enduring memories. (B)
